That cheeseburger looked really good

And if Chef was as renowed as they say he was in the movie, I'm sure it tasted just as amazing. Was just missing the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle though. And mustard. They should add those five toppings in the sequel. My goodness, I'm bored today.

I came all over it. Enjoy.

A sitophiliac. That's rare.

Nothing ruins a good burger like god awful pickles.

I'd rather be part of the human smores than choke down a pickle burger.

Also bored today.

Pickles are love/hate with people it seems. I didn't particulary care for them for the longest time but definitely like them now on a good burger. Taste buds change after a while from what I've read. Those crinkle fries looked pretty legit too. I think I'm just hungry now.

reply

Lol. It was a double cheeseburger btw. He couldnt even get that right, she should have sent that back too. But yeah now I want a cheeseburger too.

reply

I love pickles on their own with nothing else. As far as eating pickles with food, I don't even want them touching my food. Having pickles on food and all you taste is pickle that's it. I want to taste my food, not pickle.

reply

Try thinly sliced dill pickles with plain potato chips and get back to me.

The quickest way to ruin a burger is to put a tomato on it. If it's good, it doesn't need a salad on it.
I like pickles, but for a high end burger I would skip them.
It seemed like he did the In-n-Out animal style (double beef, double cheese, grilled onions), with better ingredients, larger portions, and more skill. That's all you need.

reply

Certainly nothing wrong with the way it was prepared in the movie, so I agree with you there. It's really hard to beat a damn good burger. Better than a steak sometimes.

reply

It had onion, I'm fairly sure. He put grilled onions on it. I believe straight on the meat before he put the cheese on. I prefer raw onions on burgers myself.

reply

Hm-HM!!! This IS a tasty burger!

Just learned Jackson did that for real when he was called back for a second reading after he thought he was a shoe-in for Jules

Since he was already furious and offended, he brought a burger and shake in with him and just ate it silently, glaring at Tarantino & co.

The rest is history

I agree. Raw onions finely minced. Grilled onions are for dogs.

I prefer a tiny amount of ketchup to a slice of tomato. Mustard I can take or leave on a burger. Pickles too. Sometimes a nice relish made with minced pickles, tomato etc is preferable to all the above though.

And on a normal sesame bun. Not brioche.

It seemed as though he cut the onions in such a fine julienne that when they cooked on the underside of the burger they would carmelize within the same time it would take to cook the patt(ies) medium. I would also imagine the onions would fuse to the surface of the beef. I'll have to try it on my own range to see if that's the case. As far as cheeseburgers go, I've always felt it was a superfluous meal. If the ground beef is not too lean (say 80/20), seasoned from the inside, and cooked properly, it shouldn't need cheese or any other condiments. That also brings me to my final point - I don't order burgers medium (or below) in a restaurant and I don't cook them medium or below at home. It's not a steak; you can get sick if ground beef is not cooked all the way through. And don't give Hawthorne any benefit of the doubt that they'd use unadulterated beef. We all saw what Chef and his staff were capable of, serving beef with e Coli would be the least of their sins. She should have ordered it well done.

i think the whole point was to make it as simple as possible, like he did back in the day at the burger shack. there was a picture where he was employee of the month and he looked happy.

that burger i agree looked really good, especially with one person paying so much attention to its perfection.

I read that all the food in the movie was fake except that burger. After shooting that scene, everyone was craving a burger so much that John Leguizamo ordered burgers brought in for everyone.
