Why are some straight men so concerned about gay guys and what they do? Discuss.

Why do some gay guys worry so much about straight guys approval?

I don't think they do. They just want to be left alone to live their lives. Never understood why some straight guys are so hung up about certain things.

I don't think most straight guys care at all about gay guys. Why do some gay guys care whether strangers approve of their bedroom activities though?

I don't think they do. I just think that gay guys want to live their lives like everyone else. Gay guys are beat up by straight guys, but I don't know of gay guys going after straight guys to cause violence against them.

I don't think you're fooling anyone when you feign indifference about acceptance among the LGBT community.
Gay men might not cause violence to the same level but then again I don't think straight guys are raping men to the same level either.

This movie made the news mainly because the gay man who starred in it and wrote it, Billy Eichner, was blubbering about supposedly bigoted straight people who didn't pay to watch it. Apparently, straight men (the main target of his rant, I'd guess) should've felt obliged to support a film of this nature. That sounds an awful lot like groping for approval from heterosexuals. It's likely that the truth is he couldn't give a damn what straight people think, but he wants their money. He sure did a bad job of prying it out of them.

Straight guys and gay guys seem to be running neck and neck with the whining about everything.

There's probably a lot more Gay guys within that community than you'd think that wishes their more vocal brethren would just STFU. Unfortunately, they don't seem to speak up about it, & when they do they're generally ignored or dismissed.

It’s very true.

I’d add it’s also one of the most recent biggest displays of white cis-male gay privilege that’s embarrassing. Time for reflection is way overdue.
