Excellent film

Really enjoyed it. Wouldn't have expected to. The premise sounds tedious, and I'm not a fan of Pete Davidson's comedy. (No offense, Pete. It's not just you, I haven't liked SNL for 30 years.)

In fact, if I'd read the IMDB summary or noticed that he was the star, I doubt I would have even started the thing. Glad I went in knowing nothing, or I probably would have missed this gem.

I liked it more than I thought I would too. I laughed quite a bit. Like most Apatow films, it ran a little long, but I enjoyed the character arc.

Also, Bill Burr is great! Had no idea he was in the film until he showed up with that handle bar mustache, haha. One of the best comics out there today!

eh, it was alright. I don't think it is worth paying to watch in a theater, but watching it on HBO when I had nothing else to do wasn't a waste.

Fascinating, since I just turned this off seconds into the movie when he causes an accident on the highway. Why did you want to continue watching? I am really curious, because I cannot really care about this guy no matter what might have happened to him. I think people who watch stuff like this, and so many movies are like this - overdramatic and showing people behaving like idiots, that people do indeed behave like idiots these days ... I think even more than they used to in the past.

I'm afraid I didn't take detailed notes, and I don't have access to the movie at the moment, so I regret that I cannot answer. I should let you know that I am an ecclectic viewer though, and what grabs me about a movie may not grab other audience members.

reply

Well, me too, but I have my frickin' limits with all these goofball movies that come out so often. What a colossal waste of time and money.

reply

lol you watched it for a couple seconds and yet think it's so much of a colossal waste of time and money that you spent more time bashing it on a public forum. maybe you're the one that needs to check their priorities, i honestly feel bad for people like you

reply

> i honestly feel bad for people like you

Yeah, I bet, but thanks.

reply

No kidding, wasn't that scene under like 1 minute?
And yet he has tIme to find it on these forums and blab on and on
LOL

I enjoyed it as well, a well meant tale of a slacker dummy growing a bit

Good cast as well

I don't know much about Davidson and SNL has not been funny in ages👍

reply

It was pure shit.

reply

yeah i havent seen it since i cant stand this actor and his ugly butthole eyes. his only claim to fame is milking his dads 9/11 death story. his comedic skills are non existent he i just a pro victim

I will nominate The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984) as something else to watch if just for the title similarity.
