Is this actually a supernatural horror story, or is there something else going on?

More psychological thriller just like Black Swan, I'd say.

But explicitly supernatural of course. Lead character has visions of the dead. Not a spoiler; you learn that pretty quickly that she has powers.

More like Crimson Peak, the twist is the same, the quality is the same (garbage), the upside is the same: shot beautiful and have great vfx.

Okay, thanks. Wasn't a big fan of Crimson Peak.

Without spoiling, the tone changes in the last 40 minutes or so. It's hard to give a straight answer.
