I liked it, but

It requires patience to watch, and you have to be in the right mood. Here is the essay that inspired the film: https://www.esquire.com/lifestyle/a34905/matthew-teague-wife-cancer-essay/

I'll be skipping it. Knowing over a dozen people in real life who died slowly and immediately from cancer, I don't really need to see a dramatization to appreciate the real thing.

I liked it a lot, I love Jason Segel and Casey Affleck and I thought they were great in it. But you are right, you really have to be in the right mood to watch it, it's a heavy movie and a bit depressing too. Kinda reminded me of Manchester By The Sea which was another movie that I absolutely loved but it was so depressing that It'll take time me for me to see it again.
