What's this show all about? And more importantly, why is it on Nat Geo?

Loosely based on a novel, shenanigans at a settlement in the "New France". The first two eps have the whiff of Deadwood to them.

3 and 4 were better. Solid.

hmmmm... very odd resolution to a "limited" series. But I read there had been production issues.

The character arcs and structure went off the rails as well.
