Of course Wanda easily kills the two men

Reed Richards and Black Bolt within seconds, in goofy comedic fashion, and the two women are the ones who give her a fight, cause men are weak and women are strong and superior right Marvel?

So fucking stupid, Reed Richards is made of rubber, but a woman with a fucking shield gives Wanda a harder time....

So tired of this woke shit in these movies, the men gotta look like complete useless pussy's while the women are shown as strong and more competent.

reply

I kind of noticed that too.

If she can alter the reality of 2 men, why not 2 women? Why not just turn them into rabbits or something?

reply

Exactly! When i saw her just make Black Bolt's mouth disappear i thought why the fuck doesn't she just make Peggy's eyes disappear? or yeah turn her into a farm animal? why give her that kind of power over the men, but then has a back and forth fight with the women where she barely beats them?

They opened a can of worms when they had her do that shit to Reed and Black Bolt, cause it makes you think why doesn't she do that to everyone? why not just make peoples arms disappear or turn into silly string?

reply

Dr. Strange and other sorcerers from Karmar-taj I can understand that they were able to resist her magic, due to the fact they were magic users themselves.

But none else should be able to resist her power, which makes her somewhat a living & breathing reality stone.

reply

These things do tend to happen, when you're dumb enough duel someone that powerful one by one, so she can pick you off one by one, instead of attacking all at once.

reply

While I might not care that much for them not getting a fight, Reed acted pretty stupid when he told Wanda what Black Bolt was gonna do. Then again they all acted stupid and all stupidly assumed that all Doctor Stranges of all realities were evil. Except for Proffessor X, they all just jumped to conclusions and them doing so costed them their lives. At least Proffessor X died heroically while trying to remove MCU Wanda from the mind of his reality's Wanda. Everyone else was just like, "Well since our reality's Doctor Strange was bad, every Doctor Strange must be bad."

Then again, they also stupidly assumed MCU Wanda was like their Wanda.

reply

And the funny thing was that they called Reed the smartest man alive.

reply

Yeah. To be fair there are times in comics he acts pretty stupid too. Like the terrible Civil War comic. I like the movie but the actual original comic series is pretty bad and makes almost all heroes look like s bunch of stupid jerks.

reply

Well they had to build him up somehow, because they were facing this woman who can destroy anything including your mind, and it's not like being more flexible than an Olympic gymnast is going to be any use against her!

Seriously, Richards would never have a hope of beating her, unless she agreed to a chess match.

reply

When someone can alter reality they can win the chess matches as well, but of course that would be cheating.

For people without magic power I think Scarlet Witch is unbeatable, I think even Superman could be turned into dusts at her whim.

That is probably why she was killed off.

reply

The fight against Richards would have been more interesting if she'd tried a mindfuck on the smartest man in the multiverse, and he'd outwitted her, and then she'd destroyed him with a psychic blast. Or something.

But that would have taken too long, the multisuperhero fight was something the director wanted to get over quickly and with maximum weirdness, so he could get on to the Wanda-vs-Stephen finale.

reply

She would have to kill off all the others first, otherwise she would be vulnerable when she did that to Richards.

Also she was on a mission to get her kids back, I don't think she was interested in playing with them.

reply

Yeah, but of course, Prof. Xavier has precedence, he's the one who's beloved by movie fans. So he got to be the last one killed, and who got to be the most serious before he went.

Seriously, this whole movie has the problem that the more you think about it, the sillier it is, and this is not a movie with a sense of humor! Why DIDN'T those superheroes have the sense to attack her all at once and keep her off balance, so she couldn't concentrate enough to use all the mental powers at their command? Of course she's going to win a duel with any other superhero, so it was stupid to stage the fight that way.

reply

Yes, there seem to be a notable change of style in this movie, moving away from the usual trade mark Marvel action comedy.

Wonda's power has been inconsistent from time to time, I think that is the most annoying part. For example if she can alter reality, surely she can use that to fix her wounds, why was she limping? Also she should have been wearing shoes, that part does not even have to be magic. I don't think a stylish woman like Wonda would go out with bare feet.

That was going to be the world she was planning to live in, surely she would have protected her identity by wearing some sort of disguise, even just her scarlet witch getup. Or was she planning to alter the reality of the entire planet?

Anyway a lot of details could have been better.

reply

I think her powers aren't so much inconsistent, as nearly infinite, especially since discovering whole new dimensions of ability in "Wandavision". She can mindfuck on a mass scale, she can alter reality, hell, if you need her to deal with an enemy planet by sucking the energy out of their sun, she could probably do that by now!

So you're right, she's become too powerful for the Marvel film universe, so powerful it's hard to fit her into a story with the other Marvel Films characters. Captain Marvel has the same issue, so they have her off-planet most of the time, they know that if she hung around with the Avengers they'd have to treat her as the Big Dog, and that's not how they want the team dynamics to go.

reply

They had to crowbar in the interracial marriage at the beginning too. Or the Mexican hero girl being named America. It's so obviously forced which makes it even more cringey. Smh

reply

It's almost like America is something else than USA.

reply

Agreed, the wokeness in this film felt very forced and shoehorned in.
