Sam Raimi directing

guess we might see Maguire back as Spidey?

ODD choice by Marvel Studios

Usually go with Up and coming directors or completely outside the box directors....

Its not like them to go with such a big name that I think would require Big up front money and maybe even back end money to get a deal done....

But on the other hand Raimi Hasnt directed a major film since 2014, so maybe he's not in demand and its the perfect time to get a director of his caliber on a not so "expensive" contract/deal....

as for the fit, I think Its a great choice....I'm not a fan of His Spider-Man movies(But not because they arent good) I just despises Toby in the role...

IMO this also speaks to the scale and where they are going with DS2....to get a director like Raimi, Marvel Studios must have Big things planned for DS2 and wanted a experienced director they feel confident can pull it off...

Overall...I like the choice, but ODD for Marvel Studios

Seems like a shrewd and clever choice for Feige. Sam Raimi does horror well, comedy well, can Direct and Deliver under Studio direction and brings credibility to the assignment.

It also aligns with Feige making positive in roads in working with Sony to keep the two managements aligned at least in some type of cooperative collaboration of agreement.

Lucasfilm did The Same thing with Ron Howard replacing Ass-Hats Lord and Miller and we got memorable characters such as Dryden Vos Raimi will do the same

why would Maguire come back as Spidey?

reply

"multiverse" of madness

reply

he's too old to play Spider-Man now.

reply

Ok. that's the end of that then

reply

Cool. I think that is a great choice.

reply

You do know that Sony is still in charge of the actor for the Spider-Man movies, right? They aren't getting rid of Tom Holland. Heck, from what I heard Sony is going to use Tom Holland for their future Venom, Black Cat, and Morbious movies.

reply

No bringing back Maguire to take over from Holland lol. I mean he could cameo as the Raimiverse Spiderman if the movie is going to deal with the multiverse (like Into The Spiderverse)

reply

Well, I don't think that's happening and frankly Maguire's too old for the role. Plus from what I've heard he retired from acting to spend more time with his family. I don't think he'd come back.

reply

Oh ok then

reply

I don't understand why ppl want toby Maguire back as Spider-Man so much.

reply

I hope Bruce Campbell gets his usual Raimi movie cameo.

reply

Doubtful. Thought that'd be kind of neat.
