Good Idea But Lost My Interest.

You are completely right. While the basic idea for this show was good, it was taken into all kinds of weak decisions and in the end it became on overcomplicated mess that was not the least bit good television. It was honestly for the best that it was cancelled.

I saw the gimmick as the sitcom/drama lighting and almost didn't continue because it was a bit annoying. Then it became overly complicated but I slogged on and became more involved as the series came to a close. I loved the relationship between Patty and Allison. There's a bit of a question mark at the end but all in all I was very glad I stayed til the end. Great performances too.
