It seems that while the trailers seemed fully woke, perhaps the series won't be. That's good news, but I still wonder why they went woke in the trailer. Perhaps they were trying to pander mainstream media so they would promote them?

BUT.... are things as they seem? Perhaps there is more depth to who is right and who is not.

Also, expect mixed race EVERYTHING from here on out. That's just how it is going to be. There is also no reason to NOT do that. I mean really, who cares, except for those who are racists (not you, just genreally).
People play CHARACTERS, not colors.

Being mixed race myself, I get really miffed that people are complaining so much that the increased presence of mixed race actors is some kind of woke statement. Growing up, it was so disheartening to never ever see people like myself on TV, as if we don't exist and don't matter, even though there are plenty of us in real life!

I respectfully disagree. Yes people play characters. But a character has a color. It's part of its identity. Blacks are proud of it —as they should— but whites can't be anymore. That's where the irritation of many people comes from. It's also okay to take black people to play historically(fictional) white characters but when white people do it, it's pejoratively called whitewashing. This new double standard and political correctness that comes with it is really annoying.

Honestly, I don't mind that a new character, like the android here, is played by a non-white actor. And hopefully, like you say, there's more depth in this series that will nuance things up better than "colored people and women = good people ; white men = bad people".

Let's watch and see before starting to yell.

I'm an old white guy, and TOTALLY feel what you are talking about. But, like I said, it's just how it's going to be from here on out. I just kinda ignore race etc, unless the specificity of a stereotype affects the plot or something.

It’s not about the lead being a different colour, no sane person cares about that, it’s the constant demonisation of white males (notice how in The Last Jedi all of the villains were white males, and all of the heroes were any combination other than white and male) and overtly forced diversity whereby, for example, the ads before the movie are crammed with black faces despite blacks being only 3% of the UK population.

This woke anti-white racism will eventually lead to whites identifying themselves as ‘white people’, which historically has been a very bad idea.

The sooner we drive a stake through the heart of the woke cult the better for everyone, and that means not buying tickets to woke propaganda posing as ‘movies’.

personally, yes, I feel it is all a huge mistake. BUT, follow the money: "We're doing a mostly white cast, that will surely be blasted and boycotted for that" or "we're during the CURRENT hot button thing, and mixing everyone in" ... who's going to attract investors first?

True - we should also recognize that a fairly significant percent of the blm protesters are white teens/young adults - the platinum demographic for the studios. If young white people are all turning woke, then studios have to become woke as well.

The 22nd century won't be Woke.

The most likely scenario: China will be the main superpower in Earth, the Big Boss. Asia will rule. Right now Wokeness benefits them, since it's destroying their competition, but once they control global politics, chances are they'll start to eradicate it.

US will become another standard Latin-American country. Hispanics+Blacks. Brazil is the most obvious example, and they don't like Wokes very much.

Europe is likely to become Muslim. Think Middle East, Lebanon, Turkey and similar. Again, they don't like Wokes.

If there's androids, they won't look like the ones in the series. They will look Chinese, Korean or Japanese. I don't think there's gonna be any kind of technological development outside of Asia in the next centuries.

The story is quite complex and it is not so simple to say "these are the good guys and these are the bad guys." Look, it's widely known that religious people like religious content: Mormons like Mormon evangelizing content, Muslims like Muslim evangelizing content, and Wokes like Woke evangelizing content. It's natural you like modern Woke series. There's nothing wrong with it.

Of course, you are prone to react quite emotionally to any criticism to Woke content. Again, it's natural. Religious people can become quite emotional when their faith is criticized. It's understandable that you become emotional since your faith has been criticized.

However, you should be aware that non-believers are not gonna share your enthusiasm. Wokeness in particular establishes that white males are the root of all evil, which is often portrayed in Woke series. So it's logical that mentally healthy white males are gonna be critical with Woke content.
