Took out a second mortgage on her home for 50 a year...that was actually 35k a year after taxes, that was actually only 10k a year after dude took his 25k, that actually ended up being nothing after she was busted.
She was probably the single-most person I felt bad for...that guy lured her in, then made her fork over 50k for the ticket, which...what was that about?
I'm not sure, but she's the only one that seemed may have came out of this worse than when she went in, but with a criminal record and national humiliation to boot. Wonder how she's doing now...

If that was her house where she was. Being interviewed, she looks to be doing ok.

That's what I was thinking too, watching her interviews, but if that's her house, it doesn't seem like it came from anything having to do with the McDonald's scheme.

A Google search says she's currently working two jobs and has been for some years, saying that she's finally paid off that 40k mortgage she took out to pay for the ticket. She netted only 10k a year from it and was continually pressured by Columbo to get him money faster than that, apparently pressuring her to visit payday loan services in the meantime.

She's since been ordered to pay some 300k in restitution...not sure how far she's come with that, but all in all, out of all the people who profited, she seemed like the easiest mark, the most passive...who was struggling financially and could have most used that kind of windfall. Unfortunately also the person most taken advantage of.

Take out payday loans? Too bad she couldn't have done something...like put documentation of the whole scheme in a safety deposit box to be opened if anything should happen to her, tell that Columbo guy to fuck right off.

Yes that's horrible...poor lady. Hopefully she got some money from HBO.
