Feels like a lot of filler

This is multiple episodes, but I think a lot of this could have been left out. The first episode seemed drawn out for the sake of it.

I don't know, I'm watching it now and it seems like excellent story telling. I mean, I agree, they could have easily told this story in a single episode...or hell, even in a ten minute Youtube video.
But its like the tl;dr phenomenon. Hopefully whatever you're reading is interesting enough that it doesn't feel like a long read. Just like whatever story you're being told is interesting enough that you appreciate the journey.
Hope you kept going, I'm on episode three now and its compelling as hell, IMO. Gripping, even. Some of these characters are amazing.

reply

I've got them sitting on my DVR waiting to watch, and I plan to.

reply

I watched episode 2, and enjoyed it more. The entire thing about distributing the pieces was very interesting.

reply

Yeah its kind of interesting how it gets more interesting the more of it you see. Really strange how money works...when there's a lot of it, just how many people will become involved, you know? The friggin mafia, for criminy's sakes.

The wife character though, the one with the hanging jewelry? Jesus that woman is out of her damned mind...talk about the very last person you'd want knowing anything about your illegal operation...she's incredibly unhinged imo.

reply

I've enjoyed it as casual viewing.

reply

Yup, good for farting around on your phone while you watch.

reply

Where did you see it?

reply

It's on HBO. 6 episode miniseries

I was amazed at how much the game boosted sales. It was an amazing cash cow for McDonalds.

reply

I cannot be bothered playing such games. I'm amazed anyone has the time and whatnot to remember and organize what they got.

reply

What an odd comment. Have you ever played the McDonald's Monopoly game? It literally takes seconds to check your pieces to see if you are a winner. You can do it while eating your meal, as I'm sure most do. And let's be serious, if you have time to post on this forum you aren't THAT pressed for time, lol.

reply

I can't stand stuff like that, lol.

reply

I can't stand fast food.

reply

I must eat it due to work.

I hate "games" and the lottery.

In the book 1984 the government had a fake lottery just to keep everyone depressed, since they never won. That is why.

reply

I never play the lottery. I've eaten McDonald's less than 10 times my entire life. My parents just didn't buy fast food for us so I never got used to it. It takes a little time but packing a lunch for work is the way to go.

reply

I went to McD's today, for work and with a little kid so he could pay for his own Happy Meal. I got a side salad for $1.60 with Newman's Own balsamic dressing (and plastic fork and knife and dish and wrapper).
I also boycotted them for 20 years, just to tell myself I could take some kind of stand in the world. Same with WalMart. Now I avoid patronizing them 99% of the time, but they are not going away because of my reluctance.

reply

Taking a stand? Only Commies are anti corporation. Go eat at the worker owned co-op!

reply

It's OK, but that smartass FBI guy is annoying.

reply

Lol, agreed. He thinks he's awesome.

reply

I thought he was a funny....a real dick....a private eye

reply

The talkative-as-hell guy?
I don't know...he seems to take himself so un-seriously that its actually a little odd thinking he's actually a federal agent. Has been a little hard not to like the guy some. Especially when he was the goofus that faxed the case over to the media by accident...lol now THAT was pretty funny stuff, dude seems like quite the character.

reply

I didn't follow that part too terribly closely with respect to who faxed it over. In fact I thought I heard him say he never used speed dial which I took to mean that it wasn't him. Anyway I get your point. Maybe he would be the guy to stand up and say no when his bosses were pursuing someone who's innocent, i.e. he's got that "aw shucks" thing going on but he'd turn on a dime to stop a BS case against someone. OK, I'll stand down a bit and give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

reply

Haha good man! But did you miss it when the boss guy actually points him out as being the one who sent the fax? He said something like, I'm not going to name names...and then it cut back to him a moment later, "it was definitely agent whatsisname". Then it cuts to the goofy agent who said something in his defense, I forget what, but he wasn't selling it that well, seemed a bit sheepish...I'll have to watch that part again, but it seemed like they really put him in the hot spot for that.
But overall I thought this was a pretty impressive series for how they showed the humanity of everyone, you know? Aside from Jerry at the top, who seemed like a massive douche, they didn't seem out to demonize anyone as much as show their humanity, you know? Really liked the way they went about that.
