Episode 5 (Spoilers)

Was good. Over 40 minutes long and packed with twists and turns galore.

Vision figures out Wanda’s brainwash shenanigans on the townspeople but is she really to blame?

The acting Sword director again announces he is a dick and the twins grow up faster than the sitcoms they are in.

In the end X-men Quicksilver shows up and not Ultron Quicksilver and Wanda just rolls with it. 6/10

reply

Not just "not Ultron Quicksilver" but Fox X-Men's Quicksilver, i.e. a colliding of the Multiverses.

reply

Or he's a certain character in disguise :)

He did show up at an odd time where it looked like Wanda was about to be talked out of continuing it.

reply

Very possibly could be some other entity disguised as Fox Quicksilver.

reply

While it COULD be someone/something disguised as Quicksilver ... I hope that's not the case.

Why use Evan Peters if not to directly reference the Fox X-Men films?

The only way I could see it making sense (which would still be stupid) is if the X-Men films exist in the MCU as films.

Just like we know Kevin Bacon exists in the MCU, along with "Footloose."

reply

If you turn on descriptive audio on Disney+, for the final scene you get "In Westview, Wanda stares at the version of Pietro from the X-Men films"!

reply

That’s the first thing I thought. It looked like Quicksilver from X-Men.

reply

I have a thought that he is actually supposed to be Ultron Quicksilver but they reacast him with the Fox actor cause the other actor from Age of Ultron wasn't available. But yeah. This episode was good.

reply

Same. I don't actually think it's the Fox version, just the same actor.

reply

you are so wrong

reply

Proof?

reply

I don't necessarily think it's Quicksilver from the Fox X-men films. Yeah it's the same actor, but I think he's playing a different version of the character personally.

Wanda said she didn't bring him back leading fans to think he came through the multiverse or something, but I think it's her sons that brought him back some how after they heard she had a brother that she missed.

reply

Or maybe Agnes or Mephisto brought him. Don’t think it’s the boys.

reply

Like I posted above, I hope EvilPinata's theory (while completely plausible) is wrong.

It would be too much of a tease to deliberately use Evan Peters ... then AGAIN show us it's NOT a multiverse thing (like they did with Quentin Beck in last Spider-Man film)

Besides which, we know the upcoming Doctor Strange film involves the multiverse AND co-stars Elizabeth Olsen. So why tease us now?

Not that any of this justifies the multiverse - I agree with other posters on this board who think it's just a lazy storytelling device that lowers the stakes (e.g., anyone dead can come back).

reply

Frankly the Quicksilver from the Fox movies was more interesting anyways.

reply

Just saw the episode; awesome ending twist! The Multiverse is alive!!
