Over the top - canned laughter

There were some funny moments in the sit-com setup but the canned fake laughter was just too much on every single phrase they said.

They need to toned that down and have more natural comedy rather then faking it.

Live studio audience. Haven't watched it so can't really comment.

didn't sound like it - it might have been filmed in front of audience but the laughter definitely was canned no doubt about that.

you can easily tell as all the laughs were consistent rather then some really loud and other times it would have been murmurs.

The audience was likely instructed to laugh in a certain way to emulate the 1950's/1960's sitcom. They were almost all filmed in front of a live studio audience but the laughter always seemed to be kind of the same as they were following prompts from a stage manager. The 70's and 80's allowed audiences to laugh in a more natural way.

hopefully then they will follow the true life trend and it will get better for the next episodes to come and less forced laughter.

I didn't like the canned laughter which my personal choice, but understand that was part of the way the 50/60's shows were but as the show moves to the 70/80's it will be match real life shows and will be become more natural laughter matching the actual jokes.

Did i miss the point then?

I've mainly remember 90's show onwards, but have watched some happy days, mork and mindy.

I'm sure even though they were canned laughter but not at every word but more geared at actual jokes and they were more high and low not just straight out high belly laughs all the way through.

Understand what is happening. They are emulating a sitcom from the 50's. The "canned" laughter is part of that emulation.

I've not seen 50/60's shows but in newer shows least the laughter matches with proper jokes majority of the time rather then for every word pretty being said.

It must have been a tough decision to emulate lots of laughs considering there was only little amount of joke content in the episodes, so hopefully it gets better with more jokes or less unnecessary laughter.

That may be the case but I'm not use to unnecessary laughter, when it wasn't required. Hopefully it gets better as the shows progresses.

“Audience response technically augmented.” Yeah, there’s an audience in the studio, but the laughter in the show is canned. The people doing this show weren’t even sperms in the 50s. They have no idea how annoying canned laughter is IRL.

I think there is a reason for it. Personally I think it adds something unsettling. They do not even feel like laughter from a sictom. it nearly feels like the laugh track is making fun of Wanda and Vision. The fact the laugh track is on at all times and in moments that are just not funny adds to the sense that something really strange is going on.

I didn't think of that, That i could agree with, maybe that laughter is not the show emulation but by the controller of wanda's mind who is laughing at wanda living in a bittersweet nightmare they created for her.

Yeah that is the way I interpreted the laughter because what it is laughing at is obviously very unfunny so I wouldn't be surprised if the laughter is used as a tool by the writer to add to the sense of dead looming above that perfect sitcom life.
