Funny how the modern XXIth century story is more sexist than the XIXth century original one

The original Hansel and Gretel story, recorded in the XIXth century (and originated much earlier) portrayed both brother and sister outwitting the witch. It was a tale of cooperation and wit where both siblings were positively portrayed.

Fast forward to XXIth century, it's retold as 'Gretel and Hansel' where 'a young girl leads her little brother'. The sister is made the empowered powerful female main character that saves the day and the brother is reduced to some useless kid saved by the female character.

Of course, the movie includes a black Hunter, an Arab Knight and an Hispanic Knight. Because, you know, Medieval Europe. There's only one non-protected-minority adult white male... which happens to be ginger-hair, which means he'll be the Pathetic Loser Villain. Modern Hollywood, checking race, ethnicity and hair color, you know his/her role in the movie.

Funny how the XXIth century version is far more racist and sexist than the XIXth century original one. That's food for thoughts.

U ok hun?

He's based. You're brainwashed.

reply

Nobody needed to brainwash me to stop me throwing my toys out the pram. I stopped that myself at about eighteen months.

reply

it's too bad you weren't thrown out of your pram into a bottomless ravine

Indeed, this movie is pure feminist/sjw stuff. Gretel also has the mandatory short hair to try and make her less feminine and thus avoid the so called "male gaze".

reply

That seems the current trend. This is from the trailer of underwater, all very diverse, of course, with every character fitting in the proper race/gender assigned politically correct archetype, and with the main character played by a white chick that looks like a tomboy.

Hollywood is completely taken by the woke faith. 😞

reply

Yep saw that too. It is like women can only be "strong" and "empowered" by becoming tomboys. This feminist/sjw ideology is terrible.

reply

Funny thing is that I used to like tomboyish chicks. I loved Vasquez in Aliens, or Claudia Black in Farscape.

Now, it's enough to dismiss a movie.

reply

Yeah it can be fine the issue it has today is that it is merely used as feminist/anti-male ideology.

reply

I thought you were joking, then I too a look at the cast list. D'oh!

reply

Right on brother. Something needs to be done to help the adult white male before the last of their species is cancelled. It could happen in our lifetime!
