Unsure how much more of this Doc Hollywood rip off I can take. They even copied the cabin by the lake. Ugh.
I know it's based on a book series, but it's basically just one long Hallmark/Lifetime movie. It has all the cliches: woman runs from her job/life to a new location, gets involved with the people there, falls in love with some guy who's battling his own "demons". The cast usually consists of has-beens and B-budget actors and the guy playing the romantic lead is always too old for the part. I think the only reason I stuck with it was because I enjoyed spotting the BC filming locations, because I spent the whole thing saying "Come on, don't fall in love with this loser".
shareI tried the pilot and gave up about 10 min before the end. Any point trying again? The dialogue seemed really hackneyed. I saw lots of women liked it so maybe it's just written for a kind of woman that I'm not. But if there's something interesting coming up then maybe I would try again.
shareIf you didn't make it past the pilot episode then you probably would become ill at what it becomes later. I found the first season to be more than tolerable when compared to the later seasons.
shareOh dear, I'm sorry to hear that! I do love a good romance... or even a "not exactly a romance" as long as there's good chemistry! But I just couldn't stomach this one.
