Ep 2.4 FUCK!! (Spoilers)

Wow! This is developing really, really well. Elevators scare the shit out of me, anyway. They are used here to horrific effect, and the show’s FX are tops for TV

They’ve loosened up the language.

I now actually like Kristin’s girls, who annoyed me at first.

What do you think?

lucky 4 bens sake they're smart enough 2 find him, now the families got a nice law suit against the hotel.

It's episode 2.4, just saying. I came here to comment on this specific episode. They found a new dimension or whatever it is and it's like oh well? No looking into what it is or anything, just forgetting about it? They didn't even talk about it.

Thank you for making me aware of my typo. I’ve corrected it. One thing I’ve noticed about Evil is they pretty much always remember story lines. The show runners are building a very big world and the world’s constriction is circular, not linear. What thrilled me about this ep was its terror. Nobody wants to see Ben suffer! I fully expect The Elevator Game story to pick up unexpectedly in the future. Remember, the story of The Haunted Girl VR game had several seemingly unrelated eps between the story’s intro and its chilling climax.

I hope they come back to it. It's like wth happened? They didn't come back and get the bodies? They had to have let the families know. How did they explain their deaths?

It's funny, the next day I went to the casino with my buddy and he wouldn't get on the elevator. I'm like no one else is on it and we are only going down 1 floor. He says no way and we had to take the stairs. Maybe he had watched the episode, lol.

I’ve always thought her girls were great. I come from a big family so seeing that brings back memories.

Good episode. One question I had was that if Ben was able to call the other's phones and leave garbled messages, why couldn't he just text where he was and instructions on how to get there?

reply

I haven't seen 2.4 yet but I love Kristen's girls. I have no idea how they make such young kids act so naturally on camera. I just watched 2.3 and I loved when she made up the 10 commandments and she said don't lie to anyone. One of the girls asked "What if we're hiding Jews in the basement?" And I was just like, I work with little kids and that is EXACTLY how my students react every time I try to make a rule.

reply

I love your post. Do you work with students of similar age to Kristen’s girls? Y’know, where once I heard a cacophony in their overplayed babel, I now hear a pleasing chorus. And I have always heard passion, intelligence and love.

I loved that they smacked down Leland when he tried to co-opt them in the call computer game. “Fucking kids!!”

They’re smarter than you are, Leland.

reply

Yeah, 10-12 year olds. They are very sweet, and they think deeply about things (in a very concrete way. They don't do abstract thought!) But yeah, if you tell them something, it will get analyzed from every viewpoint and every exception will be remarked upon, all the better to waste class time and get one over on you. I think they enjoy finding the wildest and most convoluted exceptions to the rules.

reply

I can tell that your lucky students have a wonderful teacher😄

reply

Thanks! I hope Kristen's daughters will be the ones who take down Leland permanently.

reply

That’s a really good notion. I understand that the show runners, Mr. and Mrs. King, have outlined a very detailed 5-season plan for Evil. (So have Yellowjackets and Westworld, 2 other shows I admire.) That means The Girls will be much more matured in
the final season. They may have bonded with Significant Others from whom they draw strength. One or more may even be in a committed partnership and a mother herself by then. I imagine you know there is no greater mundane power than a mother’s love for her child. I would love to see Kristen and her girls join with David and Ben to send Leland into the burning lake in the center of Hell, reserved for those who Dostoyevsky described as “these God forgets,” the most chilling, horrible phrase I have ever read, and what Leland so richly deserves.

reply

Yay! That would be awesome!!!
