Love Jolie ...but agree that she is sometimes not the best choice for the role.
In this case I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt because she seems to understand what is expected from the role, and she said she is going to "be working really hard" to prepare.
Having Selma Hayek in the role of Ajak is far more disconcerting to me.
Jolie was OK in her waaaay early days. Just ok. I've liked some movies with her in spite of her. She skated on her breasts and face for the rest of her career. Bad enough that she kept getting roles that were super wrong for her but we also had to hear the media gushing over her sexy body ... whu???? She jutted that knobby stem out of her dress slit and the media lost their minds. Her body is not good and yet was treated as such. No big deal if she was lauded for something else (like if she was a good actress and THAT was the praise) but the insanity almost got her cast as Catwoman. I heard that and I felt like Heston when he saw that the chimp rides a horse.
I like Hayek but wtf are they doing making her Ajak? Marvel seems determined to abuse the good will they have accumulated.
Personally, I would have cast Johnny Knoxville as Ajak.

re Jolie, you and I are not on the same page...she is pretty solid, both in looks and acting. Maybe not to the degree the media would like us to think, but she's a solid 8/10 in both categories for me.
I'd still love to see her in a Catwoman outfit....meeeeow! share
