Song Question

What was the song that Daniel Craig was singing to himself in the car while waiting for her to meet with the maid?

reply

Yeah another mistake in the casting of the fake James Bond Daniel Craig in this film. I've read a lot of comments from people saying they should have cast Dick Van Dyke instead and I would tend to agree.

Just look at this song here:-

Unfortunately overdubbed in German but I think we can all clearly see the festive cheer Dick Van Dyke would have brought to the table as the crime solving doctor. Not only that, clearly Box Office would have swelled with all those German fans.

Great news folks! I managed to track down a very low quality blurry vhs transfer copy of the episode in question, so we can all enjoy this wonderful moment of TV history without any Germans spoiling it:-

Could Daniel Craig do this? I think not...

reply

Sure, but do you know what the song was?

reply

Sorry, I do not.

My apologies I did mean to add that - My point being that if it had been Dick Van Dyke cast in the role his singing number would have been unforgettable. But that's the price you pay if you're not willing to fork out the cash for the digital de-ageing...

reply

I think Daniel Craig did fine in the role. And frankly Dick Van Dyke is 94 years old. He's too old to do a movie like this.

reply

If they can de-age Bobby de Niro for the Irishman, I'm sure the technology would have existed to de-age Dick Van Dyke for this.

You have to ask the question - Who would the public rather have seen? The nation's favourite all singing, all dancing crime solving detective doctor or the fake "James Bond"?

reply

I was fine with Daniel Craig.

"Losing My Mind" from Follies by Stephen Sondiem

Thanks!

Him singing that song was absolutely priceless! For me, it’s one of Daniel Craig’s greatest moments. :D

Looking forward to seeing more of him as Blanc.

Craig was excellent. As for Van Dyke, he's about a century old, and his Cockney accent in "Mary Poppins" was so bad he would have totally botched the U.S. southern accent in this movie.
