Haven't laughed yet...

Well, I muddled through to ep 4 and I've yet to laugh. I guess I'm just a stodgy old fart now. Sucks because I ADORE Paul Rudd, too.

Also only through episode 4, but it seems to be more of a dark comedy than a laugh-out-loud one. I am enjoying the acting for the most part, but it isn't what I expected.

reply

I just finished episode 4. Yeah it isn't really a laugh-out-loud type of show which is mildly dissapointing. Im enjoying it though, it's interesting to see where it goes and Paul Rudd is always awesome.

I'm curious... but I would like to know how many comedies have made anyone laugh out loud.
Very few do for me. A handful.
That doesn't mean I haven't liked some comedies or dramadies. I've liked many.
I just don't expect to be falling off my chair.

reply

Yes, it's quite possible to find something amusing and enjoyable without guffawing.

I LOVE COMEDY BUT LAUGH OUT LOUD LESS AND LESS AS I GET OLDER...STILL LAUGHING,JUST ON THE INSIDE.

reply

I can relate to that!

reply

Yeah, absolutley. A bit sad to realize this. looking at my ten year old son laughing at all thoses comedies and jokes makes me smile too...

reply

I know I'm guilty of being an artsy-fartsy type, but I had a co-worker sincerely ask me why I didn't like Paul Blart: Mall Cop, or whatever it was. I didn't know what to say.

reply

I've never been a fan of the very broad or slapstick brand of comedy either. It just comes across as kind of silly for me.
Comedy needs to be subtle and it needs to sneak up on me... Unexpected but relatable stuff.

And who ever told you that this is a ha-ha funny show?? 🙄

This is a dramedy at best. It was never even meant to make you laugh! What a strange criticism.
