The promos that made it look like a hybrid of 24/The Shield....

are on target. I f'n love this show.

Seriously?
I gotta check this out..

I'm 45 minutes thru the first ep. They even put in a modern angry lesbo character in the right way. It's great.

reply

not good, broseph,
very cliche & everything is black & white, good and evil

reply

ha. that's actually exactly what I liked about it. old school.

reply

nah, too poorly-written,
the scene in the hospital where Deputy gets mad that his wife moves the perp into the available operating room first - he throws an 8 second fit & she immediately calls for security even though he's her husband & he's the Sheriff? cringe-worthy,
also the elaborate prison break that just so happens to involve Deputy's godson losing his badge and face...but obtaining redemption 3/4 into the running time,

i'm watching for Dorffmeister but this has already established itself as c-grade broadcast fair

reply

i'm not sure you know what tv is.

reply

i guess i'm more used to "good" TV

reply

I want to check it out myself. Always been a fan of Dorff, so we'll see how this goes.

reply

Dorff had a resurgence in popularity and prestige after True Detective but it looks like he jumped at the 1st starring role offered to him instead of waiting for something of quality to come around

I've always been more of a fan of his indie work. I loved SFW and Cecil B Demented. Even though it wasn't an indie film, Blade is still one of my favorite comic book to movie adaptations. It still doesn't beat The Crow though.

reply

same here,
but it was cool seeing him in a great show like TD, which already did major favors for Mcconaughey & Vince Vaughn,
it would be cool to see Dorff capitalize on the same opportunity & unfortunately this is not it....
i was hyped for this show too, looked like it was gonna be in the same vein as Justified
