Seven of Nine (possible spoiler)

So in the final scene Seven is seen holding hands with Raffi.

What the actual fuck?! This came out of nowhere. Are we supposed to believe they’re all of a sudden a couple?

I wouldn’t mind it if there was a build up to their relationship. But this is so unbeliveable and forced.

That scene was really lame. First Rios and Jurati kissing and then camera moves to Seven and Raffi holding hands. 😂

reply

Yep. Total lesbos now. Totally into each other. Even though they just met five minutes ago. I wouldn't put too much stock in that if this show ever gets Season 2. These writers forget anything that was happening just one scene ago and make up even more nonsense. Given everything else this show did, I think that was pretty much an attack on the male fanbase that's always drooled over 7 of 9.

reply

That does make no sense. I thought Seven was in love with Chakotay (maybe they've broken up in the time since) and what about Raffi's ex-husband? Didn't her son make some comment about how she abandoned them for her mission? Now that she's been vindicated wouldn't a better storyline for the future be that she tries to heal her family rather than drive a deeper rift.

reply

They obviously did break up since the end of Voyager.

It would be nice if he was mentioned, so we know what happened between the two.

I don’t personally mind Chakotay but I noticed a lot of people find him a boring character.

Maybe Seven was also so bored with him he put her off opposite sex for good. 😂

Speaking of Raffi; yeah her son did resent her abandoning them. I agree it would be better story if Raffi tried to fix things with her family. But I guess the husband is irrelevant character. As they didn’t even show him this season. She will probably fix her relationship with just her son next season. Maybe when she becomes a grandmother.

Maybe they could have given Seven another love interest? Maybe Soji? Or some new character in season two?

reply

Right. I can't recall much conversation between the two. And out of nowhere..........

reply

You know, it's the future, so.. get it on, everybody. 😂😂

reply

For some reason I started singing Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” in my head after reading your comment. 😂

reply

Lol, we need a "lovey dovey montage" of this series, set to this song!

reply

Great idea! 😂 I hope someone with video editing skills sees this.

I have to laugh at all those deriding the show for showing gay relationship, etc. Don't forget, Star Trek was the original social warrior show, with that interracial kiss and forward thinking topics.

reply

No-one is deriding it for showing those things, I mean ffs there was a total of 4 comments before yours and not a single one is deriding the show for simply having a gay character in it. That's nothing but a strawman you posted. I have to laugh at idiots who can't read or understand simple words.

reply

My comments were also based on other threads in the forum.....so keep laughing at idiots who can't read.....a** of nine

reply

Oh so your comments were off topic is what you are saying?

reply

Which other threads in the forum?
Because I can’t find any other thread that mentioned it in Picard thread. Or you meant threads deriding gay relationships in general?

I really don’t mind Seven being gay or bi. But that scene really did come out of nowhere.

I would have liked it more if they showed some kind of interaction between them, building up the attraction and sexual tension at least at the begging of the last episode. This was just meh! All of the sudden they are holding hands. 🙄 That is why I am not buying it.

Actually I read in some article that apparently Seven and Bjayzl were lovers. Before Bjayzl betrayed Seven and killed Icheb. That is more believable to me than sudden Seven and Raffi relationship.

Also I read in the same article that apparently Seven was always supposed to be gay since Voyager, but the network didn’t allow it at the time.

reply

Put in to deliberately annoy people who complain about forced SJW stuff. They knew it would get a reaction.

It won't be mentioned in season two.

reply

Personally it did not annoy me or pleased me , I felt very meh about it just like I felt for the all show. What I know for a fact is that people who will so much bring up that writing wise it was out of nowhere and that it had no build up will be attacked by the trigger happy ! They will be told they are simply "Haters" or "Fanboys" without addressing the fact that no good writing for a TV show will have two characters that barely spoke a word with each other be a couple by the last episode of the season.

reply

It did seem to come out of nowhere.
