Disappointing

The original Next Generation Star Trek was never so ultraviolent and contained disturbing themes. There was even a scene where derogatory words were used about elderly people. Not cool and not acceptable. The Next Generation left people feeling generally good after each one of their episodes. This is all hopped up and violent as if the philosophy of the Fast and Furious is contaminating everywhere.

indeed, it was disappointing from the first to the last episode.

the end was horrible

You didn't watch it!

lolwut

People complained about this series being too negative and unlike Next Gen. But there were silver threads leading somewhere and resulted in the ending which in some way has returned Picard to eminence.

That said, was the ending a bit twee? Maybe. I do have some questions. :)

reply

eminence ? They turned picard into a senile emotional robo grandpa.

reply

Robocard. ;-)

I agree - he's basically now a side character in a crappy plot.

The truth is, the actor is too old - his voice is failing him, but I do think they could have done more - given him more respect/dignity as a character. Knowing that there would be a season 2, the Picard death sequence felt boring.

All in all, throughout this series I felt like I watching Logan's professor X suffering from dementia.

reply

He's robo grandpa...but senile is not what I'm seeing. :)

if somebody revives me in a 90year olds body, id be pissed.

Can you imagine de-aged Patrick Stewart a.k.a as Professor X in Wolverine: X-men origins!!! That was disturbing AF.
That would be really hard to keep a full CGI person front and center in Season 2 LOL.
