Riker & Troi

It was good to see them again. Strikes me as unusual that they would go by their first names with Picard though. I work with two guys who were in the Navy together and the one still calls the other Chief even though they've both been out of the service for almost twenty years.

Although there is one sad note. One pattern I've noticed about this series though. Anytime they introduce an old character they have them blown away in the next episode.

Yeah, they're killing off the old classic characters so they can bring in their crappy woke characters instead. It happened with Star Wars, too.

Kylo Ren Quote - Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.

Its happening in Star Trek , Star Wars, Dr Who and will happen to other popular franchises that involve white males.

Always remember. Male to Female is progressive and good. Female to Male is sexist.

I liked their house. It was also cool they had hidden defenses rigged up in it. It was also nice to see their daughter. I noticed they named her after Deanna's dead sister.

Soji really needed this kind of environment after the crap she'd been through on the Artifact. But I think she's gonna have problems really trusting people for a long time, even after spending time with Picard, Deanna, Riker, and their daughter. I don't blame her, since she didn't know anything about Romulans before going to the cube.

It seems they all have retired, like none of them still in the military or commanding a ship. Kinda sucks when you think about it. I was hoping at least one of them was still in active duty although I think I did hear Riker say he was still in the reserves. I thought after all the battles they've been through and such they would've been heavily promoted like Admiral Picard. Riker should be a Captain at least if not some Rear Admiral.

Riker seems like his same old energetic self as well. More energetic than Picard even. It felt like his persona never aged or changed one bit. With Picard you can hear it in his voice of the old age feeling when he speaks. Can't really blame Patrick Stewart though.

Update: Nvm. Riker did become Captain of the USS Titan (Luna-class) along with Troi becoming a Commander from Counselor. Guess I need to re-watch Nemesis again.

What a gorgeous ship albeit smaller than the Ent D/E of course. Reminds me of the Akira-class.

It was great to see them again, gave me a little tug in the heart seeing them together again, and that they had had a child together. I had to replay the "shields up!" bit when Riker put up the house's defences. It was just like TNG again when he got all firm and yelled it out. The moment by the take with him arm around elderly Picard was lovely.
