I'm out after the third episode

It's amazing that Patrick Stewart and the others running the show don't know what Star Trek is supposed to be. All we get are old themes like Romulans and Borg with modern edgy and sophisticated brother-sister incest and dope vaping. What happened to the new discoveries? Also, you have Raffi complaining about being in poverty living in a "hovel." I thought poverty supposed to be done away with in the Federation. The season is nearly half over and they're still putting together their team. I know whatever the big mystery is going to be about "the destroyer of worlds" will be incredibly underwhelming. It reminds me of that other terribly slow burn sci-fi show "Stargate Universe."

From now on I just watch the critiques on Youtube by Doomcock, Nerdrotic, Mr. H, etc.

" I just watch the critiques on Youtube by Doomcock, Nerdrotic"

What a fucking loser! Must be a sock puppet of the other trolls.

(hmm, shall I Ignore Satan2016, like I have done so for two others? methinks I should)

Stargate Universe... Another rambling nothing much happens steaming turd.

Picard said it best in Star Trek Insurrection, and that was 22 years ago: "Does anyone remember when we used to be explorers?"

TNG/DS9/VOY and the original TNG movies were fantastic, but this is just silly now. Slow burn sci fi sucks when you have to wait a week to watch each episode.

I wonder if Doomcock got his name from his girlfriend. "Oh oh, here comes the doom cock!" :-)

reply

Dude they only care about the cash coming from this.

reply

People are actually paying money to watch this crap?

reply

Will just wait til its released on disc in 10 years or so.

reply

There might not be a disc format by then. :/

Stewart, I think, is just trusting the writers to write the scripts. Not a good idea, admittedly!

Ever since Rick Berman took over "Trek," they've been increasingly driven to turn the series into the usual dark, dystopian story that they've wanted it to be. The "Picard" writers are just taking that and cranking it to 11.

I must say episode 7 is the best so far. Amazing acting and old skool trek episode and dilemmas. 10/10
