The Romulan Star Empire...
...wasn't just Romulus and Remus, there were hundreds of planets in the Empire, thousands of ships and fleets--EVEN after Praetor Shinzon consolidated the military in Nemesis and lost his life. Picard also gained a new friend in the Empire after the defeat of Shinzon.
At its height in 2379, it was nearly as large as the United Federation of Planets, and had a comparable military.
Why is this show making it seem like the Romulan Star Empire was only Romulus? It's very annoying. Picard was their only hope? I don't think so. The Romulans had fleets of ships and transports and MORE than capable of getting as many Romulans off of Romulus and Remus as much as possible.
Also, the Tal'Shiar was wiped out by the Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant, along with the Cardassian Obsidian Order--sure it could always come back, but it sure as heck was in even more disarray after the death of Shinzon just a few years after the Dominion War ended.
Do the writers of this show not even care about previous Star Trek works? Did they not watch TNG, DS9, or VOY at all?
