Its horrible

3 Episodes in and I regret starting watching already. I might quit after the next episode if it stays at that pace and horrible storytelling

Well Star Trek TNG was pretty horrible for the first two seasons (besides a couple excellent episodes in season 2). If everyone gave up so early back then, the ST universe would be a lot smaller.

tng had a great pilot with introducing Q and overall better, more interesting characters. and it was on a starship.

you can compare it to ds9 which also started campy and soapy and became much better in the later seasons.

but then i could also watch the more developed ST: Discovery.

Picard got worse every episode

reply

TNG was not "pretty horrible" as you describe, except for maybe a few particularly execrable episodes. Otherwise, it would never have gotten a third season which massively improved things.

In fact, I would say that all of the Star Trek spin-offs (dunno about the Animated Series) have had two seasons in which to get into their stride. Don't care about the STD.

"Star Trek TNG" was not horrible at first. That's a ridiculous myth.

I quite liked some of those early episodes. Same for DS9 and Voyager.

reply

Big fan, but those episodes were terribly stale. They really were like the old scifi stories from the 50s and 60s translated straight to screen without any translation. Personally, I liked that kind of thing. But I see why it was a hard sell for the common man.

It's an utter perversion of everything Star Trek was and stood for. Hollywood is now ruled by a bunch of Satanists who delight in destroying everything good and wonderful that ever existed. It's only gonna get worse. They got into the church which wasn't green apples to start with. New Dark Ages and endless World Wars eminent.
