Here's one thing that I found irritating.

The reporter in the interview flying through at speed the description of the attack on Mars. The bit about "wiping out the armada" was virtually undecipherable upon first hearing. That's critical information explaining the turn of events and that the armada rescued no-one. Otherwise, the attack on Mars sound like an unrelated event to the Romulan plight.
