Kurtzman Confirms Jean-Luc Picard Will Return To Space In ‘Picard’

Picard is back in space

Everything released so far about Star Trek: Picard has shown Jean-Luc Picard firmly grounded, but executive producer Alex Kurtzman confirmed that will change:

> Events began to unfold that conspire to take Picard back to the stars….He will [go to space], but not in a way that anyone expects.

But not in Starfleet

Kurtzman also confirmed that Picard is no longer part of Starfleet:

> Because he’s no longer in Starfleet, he no longer carries the weight of that behind him. In some ways, it’s easier to be [a great man] when you’re a captain. But it’s an entirely different thing when you don’t have an army behind you. When you want to get something done and fight an injustice, how do you do that when you’re really only one man?

The cast still couldn’t reveal much information, but here’s what they did say:

Alison Pill’s character, Dr. Agnes Jurati, is a researcher, someone who’s confused with her place in the world.
Michelle Hurd’s character, named Raffi Musiker, has an unrelated relationship with Picard’s past, she said it’s a delicious character to play. Every character is struggling with their inner demon.
Isa Briones plays Dahj who had a tragedy and set out to find Picard.
Santiago Cabrera plays Cristobal “Chris” Rio an ex-Starfleet officer.
Harry Treadaway plays Narek
Evan Evagora plays Elnor

Surprise guest stars Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Brent Spiner (Data/B4), and Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh the Borg) were brought up on stage after the trailer revealed their involvement. Showrunner Michael Chabon also revealed during the panel that Jonthan Frakes (Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Troi) will appear during the season.

Not even close. Picard can't "still" represent some ideals since the official ideas in Hollywood have changed since the 80s.

Original Picard was some kind of traditional moderate US liberal. Modern one will likely be portrayed as a SJW. He won't "still' be representing any given ideals because he will be representing completely new ideals.
