Director's cut

Seeing the director's cut of Midsommar tomorrow night. Looking forward to seeing the extra 25 minutes of footage.

how was it?

I didn't think it added that much. It lengthened some scenes, but it did have one scene of a different ritual that took place at night. I didn't think it got pitch black in the summer, so that scene was a little out of place. They probably cut it due to the fact that the ritual took place at night. Also Connie was there, but not Simon. So this took place after the first ritual where both Connie and Simon freaked out, so I wouldn't think she would be down for another one. After the ritual, Dani and Chritian have a big fight that lets us in on some of their past as a couple. That scene was probably the best, because it really sets things up for how everything plays out in the end. Now, it probably wasn't used because of the fact it was really dark during that scene and earlier in the movie they say that the sun doesn't really set; that it just skims the horizon. It is an important scene and I am glad that I saw it.

watched the theatrical cut and this DC doesn't sound to appealing, but i may check it out on Blu-ray when it comes out.

I would check it out, but again some of it seemed out of place and inconsistent with some things that came before and come after. The really dark scenes and the fact that Connie attended another ritual after the first one seemed strange. BTW the ritual was a joke ritual that is kind of silly.
