I was all excited about this movie but I'm not hearing good things about it

Main criticisms, too long and padded out...

Hope it's not like The Green Inferno.

reply

i haven't seen the green inferno.
the green inferno is a semi-remake of cannibal holocaust, right?

this is not a jungle cannibalism movie.

personally, i thought it was great. i loved it so much that i went to see it twice this week, in fact, and if it hangs around in the theatres next week i might go a third time.

i think it's funny & weird & different. it's long, too long i'll say, yet i was with it every second of the way and pretty much loved every second of it.

so i cast a vote for going to see it. you may hate it, you may even be a touch bored at times (i wasn't, but it is long & slowly paced), but i think it's worth going if you're willing to enter with an open mind.

Even the gory suicides? You sick asshole :)

I saw it today. It was a slow start. I admit I got bored early on was thinking how I’d have to sit there for over 2hrs. But then it got interesting. The movie held my attention and I enjoyed the story. I certainly didn’t expect full frontal nudity of a man and women. That surprised me for sure. But I will say it’s a movie I’d tell a friend to save for home viewing not a must see in theaters.

I really enjoyed the visuals and acting. I thought it could have been 20 minutes shorter, but I don't think I would have had a problem with the length if it wasn't just so predictable. The first half of film is outstanding, then it is very drawn out until the last 20 minutes.

You should go see it and judge for yourself, especially if you are excited about it. It is certainly an interesting film.

Hereditary was pretty much the same.

I guess those that constantly need fast cuts and explosions are better off watching whatever cynical Marvel cash-in is showing at one of the other screens.

reply

Haven't seen Hereditary yet. I would still recommend the OP go and see the film, especially since they are excited about it.

Then don't see it. I've heard more good things than bad. I guess it all depends on who you listen to.
