So I guess you picked the wrong film to see at the multiplex that would give you lots of laughs and put a smile on your face...

I wanted to shoot myself having to listen to all the drama, whining, and crying between the friends. All of that at the beginning had me rolling my eyes. If "Friends" the show had an episode as retarded, " Friends" would've been cancelled.

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Does it?

Midsommar felt like a rip-off of The Wicker Man (the original) rather than anything unique in its own right. Both societies are pagans, the people of Summerisle even more so, and at least their society was fully-functional and served a purpose, by growing apples. In this movie, they were just there for a ritual sacrifice, but for what? Summerisle had some sort of "crop failure crisis" so they sought someone they could sacrifice in a ritual, but here? Case in point: the two old people had reached "the end of their lives", according to the rules of the society, but did they have to die so graphically and painfully? Seemed to be there just for shock value, to me. Ari Aster couldn't easily top a decapitated head in Hereditary, so he went for this?
