No shade to Universal, love them, and I understand that once the trailer went viral, teenagers got involved and you want them to be able to see it. There should be an unrated version at some point. … I heard it is on the books. But yes, it was way gorier.
I don't think it's happening. Since it's now out on VOD, if they were going to release some R-rated/Unrated Cut, they would've released it when they released the movie on VOD. That's usually how it goes. But I don't think some extra blood and gore will save the movie. I thought the movie was pretty boring. Seemed longer than The Batman. Made The Batman feel like a 90 to 100 minute movie. I don't like that all the kills don't happen until the last 10-15 minutes. So I don't know what some extra blood and gore aka R-rating/Unrated rating would do. It's still going to be the same movie overall. But with the PG-13 cut being released on VOD, all signs pretty much point to the Blu-Ray/DVD/4K being PG-13 as well.

I was fine with the PG13 version. Not sure the gore would make it any better.
shareI just watched the unrated version and it's pretty tame PG13 stuff. The only gore you see is two guys bloodied, on an elavator floor. Also you see a kid about to be hit by a car (I wonder if that is in the theatrical version?). The only other gore is android gore--smoking CPUs and wires. I was much entertained by the movie.
