Much gorier unrated version possibly releasing on home media.

Per screenwriter Akela Cooper.

No shade to Universal, love them, and I understand that once the trailer went viral, teenagers got involved and you want them to be able to see it. There should be an unrated version at some point. … I heard it is on the books. But yes, it was way gorier.

I don't think it's happening. Since it's now out on VOD, if they were going to release some R-rated/Unrated Cut, they would've released it when they released the movie on VOD. That's usually how it goes. But I don't think some extra blood and gore will save the movie. I thought the movie was pretty boring. Seemed longer than The Batman. Made The Batman feel like a 90 to 100 minute movie. I don't like that all the kills don't happen until the last 10-15 minutes. So I don't know what some extra blood and gore aka R-rating/Unrated rating would do. It's still going to be the same movie overall. But with the PG-13 cut being released on VOD, all signs pretty much point to the Blu-Ray/DVD/4K being PG-13 as well.

I was fine with the PG13 version. Not sure the gore would make it any better.

Supposedly it's out now but I don't know where it's streaming.

It's on Peacock and there is an unrated version as well 😊

I just watched the unrated version and it's pretty tame PG13 stuff. The only gore you see is two guys bloodied, on an elavator floor. Also you see a kid about to be hit by a car (I wonder if that is in the theatrical version?). The only other gore is android gore--smoking CPUs and wires. I was much entertained by the movie.
