Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover, Ep 1.9

I admit that I rag hard on the writing on the CW, but I will also give them respect when they earn it, and there were 2 points in the crossover ep where they do: in their allusions, and homage, to their roots. At 1 point Our Earth’s Lois Lane is meeting Some Other Earth’s Clark Kent, and the soundtrack softly plays the first few bars of the song, If You Could Read My Mind, the song that ran through Lois Lane’s mind the first time Superman took her flying in Superman: The Movie. The second homage/quotation goes back even further. Some Other Earth’s Batman tells Our Kate Kane and Sara that he killed His Superman because “[He was a] strange visitor from another planet, with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men.” Those were the words spoken over the opening credits of the 50s kids’ TV show, Superman. They did their homework. I have found their Crossover work to be their very best work, I will definitely give them that.

And I’m SO GLAD The Legends are in this, even though their series doesn’t return until, like, January. A Crossover is not the same without Mick, Sara and Ray.

It was funny when Sara said her crew didn't want to do another "crossover" (to another dimension) too.

It was. The Legends is a funny show.
