The guy with Asperger's...

Is spot on. This is a near perfect portrayal of a mildly autistic person desperate for romance. The perfect actor to portray Nick. Even the facial expressions are dead on Aspie. Best actor in the series besides Joey King.

Yes he's good. This being true,it's almost something you'd see that's fiction. It's so extreme that someone would do this.

It's not fair that that boy is doing life.
Gypsy manipulated him.
In real life she said you lost interest in him because he seemed creepy.
No girl, you knew there was something deeper.

reply

From what I recall, Nicholas originally wanted to rape DeeDee but Gypsy begged him not to, so maybe he isn't as innocent as you make him out to be.

While he's really good at portraying someone with Asperger's convincingly he was not that good at portraying the actual Nick. Watching the police interviews on Youtube Nick had a much more working class sounding upper Midwestern accent and a really easy going demeanor. In the show he's portrayed as a pedantic speaking, uptight Asperger's guy who can't even make eye contact. Yes, Nick had Asperger's in real life but his version of it was not like what was portrayed onscreen.

Joey King on the other hand really captured Gypsy's essence.

Was it Asperger's though? From what I've read into his case, he had (among other conditions) autism, but it never explicitly says Asperger's.
Yes, I know Asperger's Syndrome is a form of autism, but autism comes in so many forms and the Nick we see onscreen (based on his characteristics) seems to have a much more severe type - Where's Asperger's is considered a milder form.

reply

The fact that Joey King and Patricia Arquette got Emmys for their portrayals and he didn't is a damn shame.
