My review of the first installment of the Fear Footage trilogy

Ricky Umberger's 2018 found footage film that to this date (April 2023) is the first of a trilogy of films.

I knew of this movie by a recommendation from the horror movie channel BichoCatorce. My curiosity was aroused and as it is so difficult to get, I had to acquire it from the official website of the film, because it has a very small and direct distribution.

Everything about the film is indie but at the same time you can tell that there is a great passion for the genre in the filmmakers.

The closest thing I can think of to describe it to those who have not seen it and want to know about it, is the saga of found footage V/H/S, obviously with fewer resources.

There is a wraparound story of a policeman and throughout the film the 3 sections are:

1. Birthday party
2. Storm stalkers
3. Speak No Evil

For me this first installment fulfilled my horror expectations. The performances are not supreme but neither are they pathetic. The stories are not very elaborate, but it is what is expected of this type of format.

If you're a fan of found footage, you should give it a try, but if you're not a FF fan, you'll probably be disappointed by its amateurism.

I am excited to see the other 2 installments in the series.

P.S. The packaging in which they send the movies is very creative and seeks to follow a story related to the film.
