What happened at the beginning? Before the title?

I walked in a bit late, but then there were no adverts or trailers, but as I did, I heard a heated argument in Chinese and looked up to see the programmer of the Buddi doll removing safety protocols from its chip, before he sent it on its way and then apparently committed suicide. So what was that about? A disgruntled employee being told off once too often by his boss? Or a terrorist of some sort?

Would love To tell you but you annoy me that you would arrive late to a showing bearing in mind that trailers and adverts take up at least 30 mins so you were later than that. No sympathy

reply

I already said there were NO adverts or trailers due to a technical glitch, so it's not my fault.

reply

Yeah, just a completely fed up employee. He just said fuck it, made a whack job doll and tossed himself out a window.

reply

it kinda sucked that there was no ghost spirit thing

It was different enough that it should have just been a different film altogether. Killer AI Doll movie that didn’t need to at be Child’s Play.

I guess they wanted to attach the Child's Play name to garner more interest for it. That's the idea with a lot of these remakes I imagine.

First there was a Tim Matheson video about Kaslan and the Buddi doll. Then we’re at a Buddi factory in Vietnam where a worker is yelled at for daydreaming. He‘a pissed and decides to remove all controls from the Chip for the Buddi doll he’s working on (violence, bad language, etc.) and then jumps (or is pushed) from a window, landing on a car, dead.
