To be honest, I have more hopes in the TV series than this reboot

This is just Batteries Not Included meets The Terminator. This is going to end up, just like the 2010 reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street. There was no need to change Chucky's backstory. It should've been the same as the original 1988 one. At least the TV series will continue where Cult left off, and maybe the 8th film will the last in the original series.

Don't get why people are pissed about this. About a decade ago, when the original remake was announced, people were against it. People were so happy when Curse came out. As for Cult, that one kinda sucked. It was a mediocre, slow paced, borefest of 90 minutes, with only a few good scenes. I still think Seed is 10X worse, but Cult almost entered Seed's territory, as far the franchise taking a nosedive.
