After Yang is a very good film.

Only way I can describe it is, the film touches on some of the same themes as Deus Ex Machina, and Blade Runner asking the question, do androids have souls? Classism, racism, without shoving it down your throat. It's sci-fi, but not an action film, it doesn't have a crazy robot at the end or a final showdown scene.

Very well written, and acted.

Oscars will ignore it, just like they ignored Pig with Nic Cage, and Boiling Point with Stephen Graham in 2021. Yet again, preferring tired old biopics like King Richard, and shoving an Oscar into the hand of Will Smith for a forced performance of Will Smith trying his hardest to pretend to be somebody else.
