I was groaning when I saw last night's episode. So, Darlene is considering having another kid because of her loutish boyfriend? She pretty much nailed her reservations about why she didn't want to have a kid. It's draining raising a child in your 20s and 30s; it's even more draining in your 40s. Plus, it's not fair to kids when you have them past your 40s and just plain evil to have them in your 50s.
shareLots of people are waiting until their 30's and 40's to have children. That's what makes sense for them. And it's probably better for the child. And that's what someone having children should be concerned about: what's best for the child, not for yourself. And I wouldn't say having kids in your 50's (or 60's like my crazy uncle did), is evil, but it is irresponsible. Just as having kids in your teens is irresponsible. And for some people even your 20's is too soon. It is all based on your own circumstances.
