Thanksgiving Episode *Spoilers*

That Jackie/Darlene fight was hard to watch. Anybody else agree?

Jackie is really growing aggressive and belligerent. Maybe from
living with her mother. Her attacks on ... is it Geena, Dan's new
"friend" are also hard to watch, but I've known people who just
cannot keep their negative comments in check ... i.e. me sometimes.
All in all I really like this show.

reply

Oh, I like it, too. :) While I do agree her mean comments to Dan's new girlfriend were out of line, I can kind of understand. Her sister passed away, and Dan is like her brother. They were all really close, so it's understandable. At least they buried the hatchet.

Jackie seems to have a really mean side that I never saw before, but I only started watching it when it came back, first with Roseanne. At that time I thought she was too ditzy. Still, I like the show, and I normally do not watch silly sitcoms.

reply

Yes. It felt a little too real and left a bitter taste in my mouth. But everything Darlene said was true. Jackie is a loser.

For me the whole show is hard to watch. There are still some jokes that I will laugh at in every episode but it's not the same as I remember from the 80's/90's. I don't know if it's the writing or what but I remember everyone being a much better actor. I watch the old shows on reruns and laugh harder than when they first aired. But now it just feels like they lost their chemistry. Especially Lacey (Becky). And Laurie Metcalf can do so much better. She is great in her guest spots on Big Bang. What happened?

reply

Darlene deserved the slap. But if anyone really deserved one it's Harris
