why should I see this? story?

ok they made it LOOK like one continuous uncut film. fine. I get that. very cool.

Boring following a couple people.

Is there anything more interesting to the story? Got to get a message to the front line to save people? Anything deeper or more interesting going on?

Birdman did the same thing, and that movie was unwatchable.

I agree. For all its praise, birdman kinda bored me.
Still have yet to see anything amazing about the actual STORY for 1917

It's beautifully shot, the story is compelling if derivative and the actors are charismatic. It's flawed but thoroughly engaging, and certainly one worth catching on the big screen.
