How Strong is It?

With all the theatrics about how savagely it eats, with all the wearing & tearing & roaring & it's "threatening" of Jack, you think this thing would be a bad m'fer, but when it was cornered or confronted it didn't put up much of a fight or ruckus to my surprise. Would've thought it would be super strong & fierce, tear a few throats out, that kind of stuff but I guess not.

At the very least Ralph has his definitive "proof" that something otherworldly exists, after all he saw Colton on video when he couldn't have possibly been there. But even so would those 2 cops, are they obligated to take their words for it, even so? What do you all think?

IDK, it mentioned it was hungry and needed to feed. You could surmise that it was weak. Also, if it did lash out and go uber monster in public it would have been captured on video and the whole world of law enforcement would converge on it.

How hungry could it have been? It fed on 2 people prior to the carnival. Plus what you're saying makes sense but I wonder if that was on it's mind when it got caught.

One thing that is proven out of all of that. Like everything else, including us, it is prone to being undone by luck & circumstance. Like that girl watching out for her brother & blowing the whistle on it. So we now know it could never be too careful & can be caught up with.

It eats to savor its hunger. It's weak after it kills when it needs to transform to use another host as the previous one is now compromised (not before scratching them of course). During this time, it uses a weak minded and troubled history slave indicated by the infection behind the neck to do its bidding while it transforms from its weakened state to a more strong one. It also can project itself to anyone getting close to its trail to try to scare them off from investigating further or notifying anyone else. Doesn't seem to be working all to well for it.

Have you read the book?

reply

Nope. Is there something I missed or different from the tv series?

reply

I haven't read it either. You just had good insight so I though you may have read it.
