RE: Episode 6

It is it me, or did this episode drag on. The only thing that really happens is Holly (poorly) explains her investigation, and Jack gets a beating. It was just an hour of "not much". I enjoy this show, but it slower than it needs to be. For f**k's sake, pick up the pace a little.

P.S. I would've jumped out of the car.

Reading this board I feel like I am the only one enjoying the pace.

In my opinion the show is building up tension and suspense masterfully! I was initially planning to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm the day after because I got home late on Sunday, but after this ep of The Outsider I felt so on edge I needed something light to wind down.

And then I can't wait until each next episode. It's been a while since I just had to watch something the moment it goes on. I just hope there isn't a letdown in the finale, but so far, to me, the show seems extremely well done.

I've seen complaints on here that 10 is just too many episodes for this story, but if anything, I am happy to prolong the pleasure.

You're not the only one. I too am enjoying the pace. I didn't find anything wrong with it. Has to build the suspense and the investigation. I love how they're piecing it together and how Holly is just noticing that more than one person is seeing this mysterious figure in their dreams or other.

Today is the day for Ep7, I can't wait to see what Holly does to get out of her situation.

reply

I have no problem with the pace either. This is the era of smartphones however. People have no patience.

Can't wait for ep.7!

reply

I agree, its starting to really drag stuff out

reply

I have a hard time believing Holly would get into the car to begin with. Her instincts are supposed to be good, this just didn't ring true for me.

reply

Yeah, I wondered about that too. I was shocked she got in there with him.

reply

1 hour til episode 7!

reply

Why did you think her instincts were good, though? I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but she strikes me as quite an automaton.

reply

She is very detail oriented. She notices every little thing. Not exactly "instincts" but she would be aware there is something wrong. Watch the episode and we can talk more. I don't want to drop any spoilers.

Omg the ending to holly and the cops drive to the barn was ridiculous.

First what the heck did the cop use on his cuts?

And he blows his enitre cover by running at he car and shooting. That was stupid.

We all.know holly ain't going anywhere.
There are demands a person of color be represented in each show.

reply

Or maybe....and stay with me here....the Holly character in Stephen King's story was a person of color. Just a thought. You did realize this was a Stephen King story, right?

reply

Or maybe she isn’t. Ever think of that? This is the SECOND time the character of Holly Gibney has been portrayed on TV so far I think & in the 1st one she was young & white. It was in a show I haven’t seen before called “Mr. Mercedes”. Go figure.

reply

Look it up and get back to me. I'd like to know.

reply

She is probably white and physically attractive in the original story (it looked unrealistic to me that Andy was so smitten with her right off the bat, for instance), but the race really doesn't concern me like the poster above, and I don't think is relevant to the story.

I didn't much care for this ep, it felt to me like a filler episode. I mean I was so impatiently waiting for it all week, but really nothing much happened. I'd much rather they used up the last 10 minutes on more of the plot than the interviews.

reply

I agree. Not much happened.

reply

Like see? El Cuco said to Holly that Claude thinks about her all the time, but honestly the way she looks on the show I find it impossible to believe.
