that they picked two white male actors who look so similar, i.e. the main detective character and the other aggressive detective who goes to strip clubs and got the scratches on his neck that's making him do the Evil Spirit's biddings... it's hard enough to follow the plot, but that casting is just malicious
also, frankly I'm pretty much done with the series, it started out strong, but the answer to everything is basically: evil magic
I don't think they look that alike. What you can do is print two pictures of each actor and have them stick on the TV. OR on your phone.
On the other hand, Evil magic? Where do you get that from?
It might be a shapeshifter even maybe an alien (?) we'll have to keep watching to get more answers. It has indeed gone a bit down in pacing and such, but the pilot was just crazy it's impossible to maintain that level with the whole season. But in every episode, there are some reveals and evolution.

They don't look alike. Completely different types.
They may not look a like but they do have similar hair styles and similar features from afar. Until it got a close up I thought they were the same. I think it was because they're both in the same force and both and interchangeable scenes with Tamika. I didn't see the point of Jack until it became clear to move the plot they had him go to that ranch out of nowhere where he got infected if not possessed by that being of unknown origin/doppleganger.
