The flaws and inaccuracies?

Rudy Ray Moore was either gay or bisexual - While there’s a scene where Murphy portrays Dolemite as being “uncomfortable” about a sex scene in a film due to his physique, the film skirts away from the reality that Moore was probably not sexually attracted to women.

It doesn’t really point out how terrible a businessman that Moore was - Basically the only person who didn’t make a lot money from the Dolemite series was Moore himself. He was profligate in his spending and he was unschooled in the basics of the film business, meaning that he was an easy “mark” for people who saw that he could make them a lot of money.

It made it appear that Moore’s Dolemite character had a single source - Basically Moore gathered together a number of jokes and stories from a range of people and used them in his acts.

The film that was shown being made wasn’t Dolemite’s first film - In fact the film that was shown was the Human Tornado which was actually a later film in the Dolemite oeuvre.

The film ignores the reason why Moore is largely unknown - Despite being very popular in the Black community during the 1970s and 1980s, Moore was overshadowed by mainstream Black comedians like Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor and, ironically Eddie Murphy. Despite having the clout to do so, Murphy never cast Moore in any of his films during his lifetime.
