What say ye, FFF? Thumbs up or down?

Will it survive or be canceled, and do you care? I'm on the fence on this one.

I hope it picks up but it continually lost viewers since its pilot episode. If there isn't an upswing in viewers its second season may be its last.

reply

I think that is an excellent analysis. We shall see.

I keep meaning to check this show out and yet I keep passing it by. Maybe I'll give it a shot now.

reply

I'm still on the fence.

I'm on the fence also. I am leaning towards giving up on it. I am totally lost on what the hell is going on. Then I just read the story is written for 6 seasons. I don't think it will make it 6 seasons so most likely we will be left hanging anyways.

reply

I'm still hanging on by my fingernails. The first episode was okay.

And I'm STILL on the fence.

I like the show, hope it continues. I like the story line and the characters. Interesting and different sci-fi/drama show for me. :)

reply

I've heard that it will probably get a season 3 because its ratings are high. Not sure if that's a good thing, though.
We shall see.

reply

I could see it being renewed for another season.

reply

We shall see. Meanwhile, don't you want some sort of explanation about "the callings"?

😎

reply

I would like to see that.

reply

Gave up on it halfway thru the first season.

reply

I don't blame you. I've been on the fence since late in season one. Some of the characters are extremely irritating, the wife being the most irritating of all!

Great idea but some of worst hokey one dimensional screenplay writing I have seen on TV in a while! Compared to most UK drama and decent US shows like Ozarks, this is pretty poor writing. Save us all and cancel it!!!

reply

So I'm sensing you're not a fan.

Given the turn of events with the economy that is going to hit Hollywood and tv show renewals like a ton of bricks, I suspect we've seen the last of Manifest.

I was sad watching a few of the premiere shows like "Bosch" this spring, because it hit me that for every single one that has future seasons planned and renewed, we may actually never see any new seasons of these shows ever again. Most might simply disappear. The best we might hope for for some shows is that it takes 2 years instead of 1 to back into production.

Even before the shut down, it was looking like Manifest had lost a lot of viewers in this recent season.

I rarely if ever watch network shows, in fact this might have been the first one since the Reagan Administration! :-)) And now I remember why. You invest in long plot arcs that often get dropped in the middle and you never get any resolution. But a time travel theme drew me in. Silly me.

At the end of the first season, I thought...hmmm.....we probably are never going to know where the jeebus that plane was for 5 years. Fan fic will be the only answer now, I suspect.

An intelligent and salient post, Fee! If it comes back, fine. If not, fine.

So it appears there IS a new Manifest coming to a telly near you this year.

Worries all for naught, ha!

And are we EVER going to find out what happened all those missing years or, given the direction of the plots now, did they actually FORGET everybody disappeared for years? Haha!

I swear............just a hint this season? Come on.

reply

Wow! A blast from the past!

Yes, I saw that, and am looking forward to seeing the continuation. As to whether we'll find out what actually happened, we shall see. I kind of doubt it though. I think they'll continue to tease us, as this appears to be
the new version of Lost.

Well, it went full in on the religious context so I guess that will ensure some form of logical conclusion. Let's hope it's not the "hand of God" one. I am rooting for Satan to show up eventually.

reply

A "logical conclusion" for a TV Sci-Fi/Mystery show? Surely you jest. When does logic appear ever
appear in this type of show?

😎

reply

Personally, I find a lot of logic in Sci-Fi shows and can't find any logic in rom-coms.

reply

There's absolutely no logic in rom-coms!

This is the type of show that should only last 3 or at the most 4 seasons. Just like Lost, I'm starting to lose interest with too many different story lines and questions that I'm sure will never be answered.

Noah's Ark? And Smoke Monsters - LOL! Snooze...........
