Why did Henry ask Catherine to sit on the bed (nude) with her back turned and expose the nape of her neck while he masturbated? She assumed he didn’t find her (front side) sexually appealing and needed to stimulate himself - presumably to achieve an erection and attempt to impregnate her - but was she right? And is there any historical basis for thinking this scene ever occurred?

It didn't. They made that entire thing up for the show. Remember, this is Fillippa Gregory's garbage writing, in addition to a crappy script, not what actually happened in real life.
