Not really a Jump scare film

This movie did a real good job on holding the jump scares. More that what I like tbh. It was actually the least satisfying thing about this film. I *like* jump scares. There. I said it.

Otherwise, this was an enjoyable film. The story was well done, and all of the characters were surprisingly likable. Even Daniela (which was kind of annoying in the trailers) was a great character once her motivations in the film were made known as the film got to its climax. Solid film.

I don't care much for jump scares, especially false ones: I'm forever tensing myself for them. There were a few here, I thought.

I think they looked at criticisms of some of the previous movies in the franchise, and cut down on the jump scares. I don't mind them at all, but many people really will put a movie down if that's all they are.

Are you kidding me? Yeah, in the first half there were almost none, but the 2nd half was jam packed with them.
