Betty Gilpin does the character oddly, and yet that's what works

The lead actress, Betty Gilpin, had this odd and quite unusual way of playing her character. We don't see that often. She is kind of breaking the fourth wall without breaking it. I love it. Very refreshing, and atypical portrayal. Plus, I think I may love her.

She was the best part. The final boss fight was, too, not what we typically see. Great.

I only saw her in Stuber and really hated that movie;her character was a bitch in that. But here she was very very good.

I agree completely! She is my new all time favorite movie Bad Ass! She was tough, smart and sardonic. She's also
a cold stone FOX!

She's a talented actress. Yeah, I appreciated she avoided clichés and played it straight.

I have NO IDEA what you mean by “breaking the 4th wall without breaking the 4th wall without breaking it,” and I know what a proscinium is. Prithee, elaborate.

I see the OP has not been here for 3 months, so I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for a reply. I’ll just give thanks that another asshole who named himself after a classic movie component (c’mon, AI is NOT a “character”) is gone.

She had a way of delivering her lines and the character that made her seem out of place: out of place as a character or out of place as a “normal” person in the storyline. Beside herself, in a sense. Like her character is almost (but not fully) aware that she is in a movie.

Yet HAL 9010 is still here, and pompous R_Kane has not posted in two months...

Apt observation :)

1)

I have NO IDEA what you mean by “breaking the 4th wall without breaking the 4th wall without breaking it,”

Unnecessary repetition in this sentence.

2) It's spelled proscenium.

She was stone cold, a fine woman.
